Macbeth

Which theme best suits the following passage from Act 2 of Macbeth?

‘My hands are of your colour, but I shame

To wear a heart so white.

I hear a knocking

At the sout entry; retire we to our chamber;

A little water clears us of this deed;

How easy is it, then! Your constancy

Hath left you unattended.’ -Lady Macbeth

A.) The ends justify the means

B.) Motherhood
C.)The traits of a good and decent king
D.) Femininity and Strength
E.) Guilt
I have a feeling it's either A or E.

Though Macbeth is shaken and ridden with emotion over his actions, these are not his words.... the words belong to Lady Macbeth, thus, I have to choose A.

A.) The ends justify the means
