explain how the pandava brothers came to find theme selves tired and thisty deep in the forest ?

As far as I can tell the Pandava brothers wanted to go as far away from Hastinapura as possible. They ended up thirsty in the forest but drank from the cool water of Ganga, which was flowing nearby.
