Chapter 44

Maniac refers to the early hours of the morning as theb "appleskin hours" because of the color of the sky.

Mornings were the best. He would rise with the sun's color, before the sun itself, before the bison, and set out. He came to think of these appleskin hours as his special time with the town.

He loves the morning because he loves to see the pretty sky and it's sunset because it makes him happy and joyfull and gives him a time to relax and think about himself other that running away from his problems and staying in the buffulo pen and be homless again because every time somthing does not work out for him he runs away and so I think he just wants to relax and enjoy himself for once.
