I'm sceptical about the telekinesis part of the narrative but this is Ronald Dahl's world. He has the ability to make you want to believe that his sympathetic protagonist, Matilda, can have powers. She is not completely helpless with her lot in life; she can use those powers to stick up for herself and Miss. Honey.
