What does vladek say he wanted to give Artie but mall won't let him?

I have both books with me. Vladek claims he wants to give Artie a diamond that he gave to Anja when they got to the U.S. He claims Mala won't let him.

Sorry, I don't have the book with me, but I'm going to guess this is from Chapter 5, and we're talking about Vladek's will and his money. Mali wants Vladek's will changed so that she can be taken care of, and Vladek won't change it. So, I'll go with the "money."
