Why did the children remain silent throughout the play?
Except during their deaths, they did not say anything at all during the play , why is that?

The children are silent, innocent, pawns...... they are oblivious, and yet their fate will bring the most emotional reaction the play will induce, To have them speak is unnecessary; they simply need to be seen.
