the speaker here refers to salanio .if he had ships in the sea he would also be melancholic like antonio.he would check the dlirections of wind by casting a blade of grass in the air to check if it is in the favour of his couse of ships or not.further ,he would look into the maps for harbours ,channels and open road steads near to the shore re his ships coud anchor in case of need.
