Why are the men waiting outside of Shylock's home, and why do they think it is odd that Lorenzo is late?
The men are waiting outside Shylock's house so that they can meet with Lorenzo and help "spirit" Jessica away from her father. They are confused about Lorenzo's lateness since they do not see tardiness as a characteristic of one who is newly in love. The figure that young lovers are not often late because of the newness of the relationship.
