Gratiano tells Antonio to not be so depressed about his business enterprises. He implores his friend to lighten up or he will grow old much too quickly. He says that any wrinkles Antonio has should come from laughter rather than worry. He adds that Antonio still has much life left within him,
“With mirth and laughter let old wrinkles come…Why should a man whose blood is warm within Sit like his grandsire...."
