Did antiono make the right decision on taking the bond with Shylock

Antonio's decision to take the bond was a completely selfless act. He had nothing to gain, as the bond was promised in order to help Bassanio. Antonio expected his ships to return and his cash flow to improve. He certainly doesn't expect the bond to be called in. If anyone made a poor decision it was Bassanio, who never should have asked for the money to begin with, particularly after he learned that Antonio would be forced to take a loan for his own.
