Hey Angelina, Shylock really loved his gold but when his daughter, Jessica, elopes she not only helps herself to a ton gold, but she also steals a turquoise ring, which turns out to be one of Shylock's most prized possessions. As it turns out it was the ring given to him by his dead wife,
Out upon her! Thou torturest me, Tubal: it was my
turquoise; I had it of Leah when I was a bachelor:
I would not have given it for a wilderness of monkeys.
See, Shylock has feelings too!
but i mean like an object to represent that he's the antagonist character. my teacher from Saskatchewan is very old school and likes everything to be symbolized lol
I suppose for that you could use the knife that he wants to cut out Antonio's flesh with. It is both symbolic and literal!
