Characteristic of puck.
Also known as Robin Goodfellow, Puck is a mischievous fairy who seems to start the accidental chain of events of mistaken amorous identity in the woods. Another fairy recognizes him and says, 'You are that shrewd and knavish sprite / Called Robin Goodfellow. Are not you he / That frights the maidens of the villagery' (Act 2, Scene 1, lines 33-35). He can change his shape and voice to suit his fancy. These characteristics help him manipulate the Athenians in the woods and allow him to place the magic juice in everyone’s eyes.
