chapter 50-51
Starbuck becomes increasingly disturbed by Ahab's behaviour. One night he goes into the Captain's cabin to examine the barometer. There, he finds Ahab asleep in his chair with his head thrown back and his closed eyes pointed toward the compass. Creepy!
