When did the crew of the pequod change their mind about mutiny?

While at the Golden Inn, Ishmael narrates a story about another ship, the Town-Ho, that was originally told to Tashtego during a gam between the Town-Ho and the Pequod. The men have had thoughts of mutiny, but this story combined with the innate superstition of sailors changes their mind. Ahab and superstition have convinced them that their common fate is in fact the killing of Moby Dick, that his death is their common quest. The world of these men is very much one bred of prophesy and portents. Everything symbolizes something.......... and Ahab is very good at exploiting these symbols for his own purposes.
