Quote: “Laws protect the accused and that is the wonder and beauty of the American system of justice. We apply the law equally to both sides. The law that protects society protects all of society.”

Analysis: The American system is commonly known for bringing everyone justice. It claims to be fair with others and has no prejudice only equality. But we all know that isn't true. Though it tries its best to perfect the imagery of justice, it continually fails. People of all ages, races, and genders are treated unfairly, and will not get the support that they need. Disadvantaged people will not get the attention that they need. As long as there is corruption, many people do not get the same opportunities and support, thus lacking the ability to succeed. And it's not just in court but just the way people treat each other. As long as the American system is broken, so will the American Dream.

Does this properly connect to the theme of the American Dream?

This question calls for your opinion. There is no right or wrong answer. Every system of justice is flawed, as people themselves are imperfect. This is the reason the United States has higher courts and the ability to appeal court decisions. If you answer above is meant to persuade the reader that the initial quote is untrue, you have a good beginning. You have not, however, included examples.

Your analysis is subjective and opinion based.
