Why doesn't David's parents listen to Marie's request to not see Dr. Frank Hayden? Why didn't they call Dr. Snow ?

Marie has a very bad cough and a temperature. She refuses to see Dr. Hayden because he is Mr. Hayden's brother and he would not charge anything for his services. She finally says that, "I don't need no doctor".
