On page 74, David sees his father and uncle talking. What is the first strange thing he notices? What is the significance of this?

David sees Frank make some kind of move towards his father, and holds onto his pistol tighter. David wonders if he might shoot Frank. But then Frank simply shakes Wesley’s hand, and the two of them walk off together.
