what is wes telling frank about paint and houses what is he communicating to dave with this story

Wes is Father.......... the only other thing I haven't already mentioned is that David is looking for answers as to what Frank has done....... his father can't fix it, and he can't whitewash it. It's all about things he can't control and trying to make David understand why there are no explanations.... that David just needed to do what he said.
