Much Ado About Nothing
How does Claudio react to the news of Hero’s innocence? Does he make a satisfactory confession?
act 5
act 5
Claudio's reaction is typical of the Shakespearean male who finds he has dishonoured the woman of his affections. She goes from being a virginal queen to a hoar and then, when he finds his error, back to a virginal queen. It's the Madonna/hoar complex. Claudio again is enraptured with Hero.
