Much Ado About Nothing

What is meant by Leonato, when he states that their is a "merry war betwixt Signor Benedick and Beatrice, due to them never meeting but there being a skirmish of wit between them"?Pg,5 Act I, Scene I.

Leonato says that whenever Beatrice and Benedict meet, they have a war of wit between them. They enjoy to verbally sparring each other about most any subject. There is a little bit of sexual tension between the two. Both are headstrong and clever. They love debating and arguing with each other using semantics and word play.
