In the Homeric Hymn to Demeter, why does Demeter go to Eleusis? Why does she want to make the child Demophon Immortal?

I have read about the Eleusinian Mysteries, but I am still trying to finger out the exact answer to this question.

1) Demeter was searching for her daughter Persephone.

2) Demeter wants to make the child a god as a gift to Celeus for his hospitality.
