What does Hercules do when he finds out that the funeral in Admetus' household is for Queen Alcestis?

Because of Admetus' generosity and hospitality, Hercules is moved to try to help comfort Admetus after the loss of his wife. He goes into her tomb, wrestles with the god Thanatos (death) and wins. Ultimately, he retrieves her from the god of death and she returns to life.
