What is a cyclops?

Cyclops are the one-eyed monsters (their eye is located smack-dab in the middle of their foreheads) in Greek Mythology. They live in caves, are giant in size, and it is generally believed that there were three of them. They were brothers. As far as what they did....... what story are you referring to?
