Why was First women created?

Pandora was the first woman created according to Greek Mythology. She was actually created as a punishment because Prometheus gave humans fire. She was given to Prometheus's younger brother Epimetheus. Zeus sent Pandora with a clay jar as a wedding gift and when she opened the jar it released spirits that would spread evil and plagues amongst mankind. Only hope was left behind, which is a positive thing, as this hope is false hope and considered one of the worst things in the jar.
