Why does Ehrenreich assert in her introduction that "a story about waiting for buses would not be very interesting to read" ?

In writing this book Ehrenreich took on the persona of a struggling single mother. Although she would write about the experience of being the working poor in America, she resolved to have a car. Ehrenreich decided that her time was a precious commodity in writing this book and waiting around at bus stops would not be very interesting to readers.
