I hope our pages match. Snow imagery figures heavily. Snow provides a sense of peace compared to the horrors of the camp. It is a contrast of purity over dirt and destruction. Snow comes from the Heavens which the Nazis cannot control. It covers the blood of dead people and lays them to rest.
Train imagery is also important here. Trains provide a paradox of imagery. They represent the transportation to Hell (the camps) while also representing the hope of being transported out of them alive.
