Describe the failure of Sighet Jews to ancipate Nazi terrorism?

The Jew in Sighet, even after Moishe's return, refused to believe the atrocities he described. When the Nazis arrived, they were pleasant, treated people respectfully, and gained their trust. Everything the Nazis did was well planned, and the Jews accepted the changes. Over time, rules were put in place.... the ghettos became a reality..... transports became the norm, and yet, the Jews were still complacent. According to Wiesel, they just couldn't comprehend the enormity of it all..... they couldn't believe that anyone wouuld strive to eradicate the world of a group of people based upon their beliefs..... their heritage.
