explain the reasoning Wiesel uses for writing his memoir

I think Wiesel wanted to wright an account of his experiences in the camps during WW2. Wiesel observed a ten-year vow of silence about the Holocaust. Finally, in 1956, Wiesel published Un di Velt Hot Geshvign (Yiddish for And the World Remained Silent). This was later condensed into the work that we know as Night. I think Wiesel wanted the world to know his personal account as a cautionary tale so this thing could never happen again.
