In your opinion, are any of the prisoners' actions admirable or heroic?

It is difficult to judge people who had to exist under such horrible conditions. One character that stands out for me is Juliek. He is the young man from Warsaw who plays his violin. Juliek miraculously extricates himself from the tangle of bodies and begins to play Beethoven soulfully on his violin.
