Is a loved one enough motivation to help withstand obstacles in life? (Night Book)

In terms of the novel, I believe we see many instances where the thought of loved ones is enough to keep a person going.... if only for the person they love.

As a parent, I know that protection of my own children could keep me going for as long as it took.... regardless of how difficult things became. Parents have far more resilience than they're given credit for. Our job and motivation in life revolves around our kids.
