At one point in the book, Wiesel said that he had ceased to feel human what did he mean by this and what things can cause people to lose their sense of dignity and humanity?

Elie Wiesel's account of his experiences during the Holocaust illustrates the many, many ways that the Jewish people were dehumanized. The were packed into cattle like trains, and thrown off trains like refuse if they died along the way. They were starved, beaten, slaughtered, burned, and murdered.... they were treated like animals.
The Jews were treated poorly to the point were they could have died any day at any time. Elie Wiesel could only give up and lose hope.
