Night raises many question, but only few answers. What imoportant questions does wiesel raise and why is questioning or protest important (both, in this book and the world outside it)?

I think Eli really questions his faith. In this case it is Judaism. He asks the simple question of how a benevolent God could let this happen.Eli's faith is shaken but not totally destroyed; it has changed. This question certainly is posed outside the Jewish faith as well. How can any God let horrible things happen to innocent people. I don't know the answer to that.
