"This ceremony, will it be over soon? I'm hungry..."
Juliek says this as the prisoners are waiting for a young man to be hung. This illustrates the callousness of life..... death is commonplace situation.... ordinary. Rather than thinking of the young man who is about to die, he is worried about his own hunger.
