What does the quote " i was not denying gods existence but i was doubting his absolute justice" mean?
I understand the first part. he knows god does exist. but i dont understand the doubting his absolute justice part.

Elie was doubting that God is fair, that God hands out justice to the wicked. Here, Jews are being savagely slaughtered and God does not seem to be punishing anybody except his own people.
