What is the significance of the title of the book? How does that significance play out throughout the entire story?

The title, Night, reflects the metaphor Wiesel uses throughout the memoir. Night symbolizes darkness.... a darkness of spirit, the mind, and the soul..... a complete loss of hope. In the novel, Wiesel sees no light at the end of the tunnel.... he sees nothing but darkness.
