Why did Eliezer pray, and why did he cry when he prayed?

Elie prays throughout the book. His faith is part of his identity. God was his only hope of getting out of the camps. At times he cries because he wonders if his God has forsaken him in the misery of the camps.

Ellie prays for gods help to get him out of the camps. He crys because he wanted god tohelp him out of the camps but he didnt.
