Why did Elias take Ibarra's wraps and some valuables? Chapter 54-56

Elias goes to Ibarra's home to tell him that he needs to flee.... he tells Ibarra that there is a conspiracy against him. Elias collects Ibarra's valuables and clothing to aid him in his escape.
