what is the function of the diaoluge between jocast and the chorus leader

when oedipus is arguing with croen what is the diaoluge between her and the chorus leader?

The chorus leader always reflects the views of the citizens.  These views help the reader understand the "back story" that even Oedipus does not know yet, but that Jocasta is beginning to figure out:  that Oedipus did kill Laius and that in marrying Jocasta he has married his mother.
