    Compare and contrast the personalities of George Milton and Lennie Small.

    George Milton should be described as the smaller, more intelligent man. Physically, his features are sharp and well defined, and he is significantly smaller than Lennie. George is more self-aware and goal-oriented, as he plans for their future.

    Make note of the irony of Lennie's name. Lennie Small--his name is misleading because he is anything but small--is an extraordinarily large man. However, he has the mind of a child and appears to suffer from some form of mental retardation. Lennie is childlike and gentle in nature, but he possesses great physical strength, over which he has little control....
