The more Lennie is reminded of something, the more likely he is to remember. The place they've designated to meet was important.... Lennie knows that he is in trouble. It's like telling a child to go to the entrance you came in if they get lost in the store..... panic will take them back to that entrance. Panic and fear have motivated Lennie.
