I think you mean when Curley's wife is found dead. Yes, I pretty much knew the farm dream was done. Lennie was the largest part of that dream for George. I also knew that George had no choice but to kill Lenny, "I ain't gonna let 'em hurt Lennie..." Carlson's gun was an obvious move from George and we just know it will end at their peaceful rendezvous point.
