Of Mice and Men
Curly's wife knows that she is a marginalised person, but why did she say that she could lynch Crooks so easily? She is not a character to be respected after all.
;)
;)
I mean, she is not a decent person, just a pathetic character who relieves boredom by flirting. Right?
Curley's wife is really part of the cycle of abuse. The abused often feel the need to abuse others. Curley's wife feels so worthless that Steinbeck doesn't even give her a name. She is known as Curley's property. Crooks is also marginalized and vulnerable. The only validation she can find is to abuse the black stableman with a crooked back. This somehow makes her feel just a little bit of importance in an otherwise pathetic existence.
oh many thanks! :D
