In the world we live in, there can be no excuse for people bullying those who are less able to survive. A recent death on a ranch in the Salinas Valley shows how the anger of some, when directed to those who are weak, can result in tragedy. The ranch hands, angry over one worker's "murder" of a ranch hand's wife, went out much like a lynch mob to deal with the murderer, a large, somewhat mentally limited man. When they found him dead, the realized that his death solved nothing and that the wife, herself hardly perfect, could never be reborn. Sadly, the treatment of this mentally challenged ranch hand showed no compassion and gave him no room to express the gentle soul he was inside.
