Slim- Slim is the only character that does not contribute to violence. Slim is a Christ-figure of sorts who has a calming ability.
Candy- Candy doesn't directly contribute to violence. At times he gets frustrated like he does at Curley's wife. He suffers the death of his dog.
Curley- Curley personifies violence and insecurity. His small -guy- complex compels him to beat up anyone he thinks he can intimidate.
Lennie- Lennie comes by violence either through self-defence or merely not having the intellect to understand his own strength.
