As the question whether the men will have land is bandied back and forth, does Steinbeck set up the expectation that their dream will end in sucess or failure?
As the question whether the men will have land is bandied back and forth, does Steinbeck set up the expectation that their dream will end in sucess or failure?
Steinbeck sets up the hope that the men will fulfill their dream, but I don't think that we as readers ever believe it. Thus, in my opinion, the men who've been let down over and over again won't get the dream because it's exactly that.... a dream.
