Of Mice and Men
How is the bunk house described? What does the description tell the reader about the men who live there?
chapter 2
chapter 2
The bunkhouse was a long, rectangular building.... plain and simple. The walls were whitewashed, the floors natural, and the windows sparce. Each man had his own bunk, and above his bunk was an apple box for personal items. There was a stove to keep them warm. This description alludes to the simpleness of the men's accomodations, as well as its impermanence. For most men this was a temporary dwelling, thus, it did not have any of the ammenties we'd think of in terms of a home.
