How is the theme of loneliness developed in chapter 4

This chapter focuses on three of loneliest people on the ranch. Everybody is lonely to certain extents but Crooks, Candy, and Curley's wife share an intense isolation and alienation from the rest of the men on the ranch. The scene where they all meet in front of Crooks's hovel is a tragic example of their loneliness. Curley's wife unleashes a verbal attack on Crooks that is full of vitriol and threat. Candy is powerless to do anything. His situation is no better than the black stablebuck. Curley's wife is so tortured by her loneliness that her only refuge is to make another soul more despondent than her.
