Slim is extremely powerful, but he doesn't exhibit this trait in his actions. Thus, he'd best be described as respectful. In his interactions with the other men, Slim is helpful, a good listener, and full of good advice. He is compassionate with Candy, firm with Curley, and a welcoming, good listener with George. He inspires George's confidence and is the first to understand George's devastation at Lennie's death. Slim is a friend, who respects those around him. In turn, he has the complete respect of the other characters.
