Loneliness is depicted throughout the novel. Who are three different characters in which their main characteristic could be said to be loneliness and give a brief explanation as to why you chose them.

1) Candy, his only companion is his dog. After the dog is killed, Candy has no one and therefore, attaches himself to the dream George and Lennie share.

2) Crooks feels "...A guys goes nuts if he ain't got nobody. Don't make no difference who the guy is, long's he with you..." He would work for nothing, as long as he could communicate with others.

3) Curley's wife is so lonely, she seeks friendship from anyone who'll talk to her. Un fortunately, the only other people in the ranch are men. Example of her loneliness, "Think I don't like to talk to somebody ever' once in a while?"
