Whom does Lennie imagine that he sees by the river? What probably causes him to have these visions?

Lennie  hallucinates: he imagines the figure of his Aunt Clara - a plump, aproned woman with thick glasses - who scolds him for getting George into so much trouble. Lennie is under a lot of stress. He knows something has gone terribly wrong, he just can't remember what.
